‘Living together in the green’—that was the guiding theme as Hennigsdorfer Wohnungsbaugesellschaft mbH and the Berlin landscape architects GAST, working with local residents, redesigned the courtyards of the Albert-Schweitzer Quarter.
The result is a series of spaces for movement and socialising, with different levels of challenge: an inclusive play point offers prompts for careful looking and fine motor skills; a free-fall slide delivers a change of perspective and a thrill; and the range of swings covers everything from relaxed lounging to shared ‘grandchild-and-gran’ swinging.
