Moorbeekpark in Norderstedt is a popular meeting place for families, nature lovers and play enthusiasts of all ages. As part of the modernisation, the City of Norderstedt worked with Kinderland to preserve what was already valued while creating new play and experience areas designed specifically for accessibility.
Our play equipment blends harmoniously into the park, linking old and new in a consistent design. This meant well-loved existing pieces – such as the wheelchair-accessible roundabout – could remain and be complemented by innovative new features.
A particular highlight is the rumble ramp, deliberately integrated into the park path as a tactile experience route. Children using wheelchairs can roll over it and feel the distinctive vibration and sound. Our sensory shower creates a whole-body sensory experience that is especially valuable for children with disabilities and autistic children. Gentle water stimuli and a range of materials support perception and emotional engagement.
Further highlights include the light shower with fascinating coloured light effects and the viewing tube, which opens up surprising new perspectives. All equipment is designed and made by ESF Kinderland in a unified style, strengthening both recognition and harmony across the site.
The accessible area has been planned so that all children – regardless of individual needs – can play together and experience nature. High-quality, robust materials ensure safety and durability. The modernisation has created a vibrant place that promotes movement, sensory experience and social encounters in an inclusive way.
