What could be better than playing outside together in summer? On the playground in Gyönkerstraße in Griesheim, everyone can join in—young or old, little or big, whether using a wheelchair or pushing a pushchair.
Alongside a slide tower, the site includes an under-threes play combination, an inclusive play structure, a water play area and plenty of opportunities for climbing and balancing.
The inclusive play structure is wheelchair-accessible thanks to a two-metre ramp with wheel deflectors. Sliding games with different shapes, a sand lift and an under-accessible sand play table, a net seat and a funnel telephone encourage play together and create lots of chances to chat and interact.
The under-threes play combination is ideal for very young children: low platforms with wrap-around guard rails, a toddler slide, ramps, climbing nets and a one-metre crawl tunnel. Acrylic windows cast colourful shapes onto the ground when the sun shines. And the ‘Tante Emma’ play wall with its little shop counter sparks imaginative role-play.
Older children and adults get their share too. As well as a 2.70-metre slide tower, the balance-and-climbing course invites exploration: a lounging net, climbing net, balance pipes, a double horizontal bar, balance rope and beams challenge everyone’s sense of balance.
The playground is rounded off with a water play installation. A fire-engine pump, a water dispenser with mud table and a mushroom-shaped water outlet let children channel and direct water, mix it with sand and build their own creations—particularly welcome on hot summer days.
