This year, the Westbergkamp/Schonnebeckhöfe playground in Essen reopened following extensive refurbishment. Sparked by a cooperation between Grün und Gruga (Essen) and the local Schonnebeck youth centre, young people from the neighbourhood helped shape the youth area of the playground.
As part of the upgrade, we fitted the section for older children and teenagers with a one-of-a-kind seating and climbing object. The play object ‘Schief mit Netzen’ (GAT-040100-XT-0-000) offers versatile reasons to get moving outdoors, with a vertical climbing net, two slanted climbing nets and a separate balance beam. At the same time, it also provides a retreat and lookout point where young people can meet and chat.
