Berlin’s playground on Adolfstraße has gained two new attractions: two elephants. The elephants’ basic structure is made from steel tubing with diameters of 34 and 48 mm and fulfils the standard requirements of a climbing frame. The stainless-steel climbing elephants combine a wide range of play features in a single piece of equipment. Their trunks are shaped into slides: the large, standing elephant has a box slide and the trunk of the small, seated elephant is a fireman’s pole slide.
The tails of these steel ‘thick-skinned’ animals, designed as knotted climbing ropes, offer another way up. Each elephant has a saddle made from steel-cord rubber belting, and the ears are made from the same material. In addition, the belly of the large elephant contains a reclining net made from Hercules rope.
