Bayreuth, Playing with Wilhelmine

Playing with Wilhelmine on Bayreuth’s playground

In honour of Countess Wilhelmine — who, within just two decades, helped turn Bayreuth into a cultural hotspot — an exciting playground has been created in the heart of the city. At the centre is an adventurous play castle that invites visitors of all ages to join in straight away.

A balancing course with stepping loops, balance beams and stepping posts leads up to the first tower, which is connected to the main tower via a net tunnel. Plenty of small decorative elements and coloured windows make the tower particularly intriguing.

At the end, a steep slide whisks you back down, before the nearby swing area gets everyone moving again. A hammock and various other swing seats invite children to swing and sway together.

An inclusive play point also welcomes wheelchair users, enabling them to enjoy messy play and join in with the action.
